Stop AIDS Campaign
Tell Johnson & Johnson to change their minds – invite them to join the Patent Pool Party!
Ten million people are still waiting for life-saving HIV treatment. A new initiative – the Medicines Patent Pool – will make it easier for more, better and cheaper generic HIV medicines to be produced. But sadly Johnson & Johnson have said they won’t join the party.
We need big companies like J&J to join the Patent Pool Party or it won’t work, putting the lives of millions at risk. Other companies are already in talks to join and one organisation – NIH – is already in the pool! They have reached agreement with the Medicines Patent Pool (MPP) for the rights they own on a vital HIV medicine, Darunavir. J&J own the rest of the patent rights to Darunavir, so by turning their backs on the MPP they are effectively blocking generic production of this life-saving drug through the Pool.
We need you to make sure they come to the pool party! It is really important they feel pressure from as many people as possible about this decision. Please add your details below and send the invitation to J&J asking them to reconsider.
This could be the most important party invitation you ever send…
